Together We Care: Social Worker @ the King Family Library – May Schedule Announced

Libraries often serve as the front porch of the communities they cater to, offering an extensive range of services, programs, and resources to fulfill the needs of a diverse population. In modern times, libraries are regularly called upon to address social service needs such as poverty, hunger, homelessness, mental illness, unemployment, and substance abuse.

The Together We Care program is scheduled weekly on Thursday from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM to meet and answer community questions at the King Family Library, 408 High Street, in Sevierville. Thanks to the caring resource groups supporting this program, upcoming sessions for this month include:

  • May 2 – TBA
  • May 9 – McNabb Center
  • May 16 – Mountain Hope Good Shepherd Clinic
  • May 23 – Sevier County Health Department
  • May 30 – McNabb Center

Community partnerships and collaborations with these and other community groups allow the library system to offer these sessions to bridge needs and answer questions for the public. Each service representative for all the organizations participating is well-versed in providing answers and assistance for any question asked so please feel free to make your inquiry during any session. The Together We Care program is open to the public; no appointments will be necessary. If not able to visit at scheduled times, a resource center has been established at the King Family Library that will house a selection of brochures and informational tracts from the social service networks in Sevier County.
